Pampas grass is a perennial grass native to South America. It was introduced to other parts of the world as an ornamental plant in 19th century .It is a fast growing plant can reach up to 8 feet(2.4 meters) in width and 6 to 10 feet (1.8-3 meters).
Its flowers appear in late summer and persist into winter. Pampas grass does best when planted in full sun, or at least six hours of direct sunlight a day, it a tough and tolerant plant and isn’t fussy about soil pH, so you can grow it in just about any average, well-drained, acidic, neutral, or alkaline soil.
Water pampas grass well until it is established. Pampas grass doesn’t generally require fertilizer aside from compost to improve soil (and drainage).
