20/12/2023It is commonly known as poison bulb, giant crinum lily, grand crinum lily, or spider lily Crinum is a plant species widely planted in many warmer regions as an ornamental. C. asiaticum is a perennial herb that typically grows up to 1.2 m (3.9 ft) tall.
The leaves are lanceolate with wavy edges and pointed tips. it is dark green and grows up to 1 m in length. Their width is 7-12 cm or more. The flower stalks are as long as the leaves.Blooming from summer to fall .It is called spider because the long, slender petals of the Crinum flowers often resemble spider legs, especially when they extend out from the central flower structure.
It prefers planted in light shade to full sun , fertile, organically rich, consistently moist soil with organic matter.
crinum can tolerate short periods of drought but still requires consistent watering.
Water and fertilize generously throughout the plants’ active growing season .And Reduce watering during the cooler months in areas where the plant continues to grow through the winter.About maintenance ,cut back foliage in advance of cold winter months..
