Euphorbia

Euphorbia is an annual, biennial or perennial , evergreen, woody succulent shrub that is native to Mediterranean region.

Euphorbias come in a variety of shapes and sizes, many boasting cacti-like leaves and colorful striations of red, white, and more. It is also characterized by its abundance of thorns.

Nearly all euphorbia species are succulents, and those that aren’t are best described as woody shrubs or herbaceous plants. Many exude a sticky white latex sap from their stems, which is a known irritant to humans, dogs, and cats.

Euphorbia represents one of the largest and most diverse genera of flowering plants in the world.

You can see it in many different places due to its many uses, landscape designers resort to it ,it is a beautiful solution for creating gardens with a desert style , modern gardens with a desert touch that means  “rock gardens”, in addition to using it as a ground cover in gardens ,grassland ,meadows and open forests.

It is characterized as a low-maintenance plant , it is very easy to care for, prefers full sun, all euphorbias, especially the succulent varieties, need well-drained soil. A sandy soil with a slightly acidic to neutral soil pH between 5.0 and 7.0 is best ,as for water ,it is simple ,water it whenever the top few inches of soil feel dry.

Feeding requirements vary by euphorbia species, but in general, all of them will benefit from some simple fertilizer.
