Sansevieria trifasciata , commonly known as the Snake Plant or Mother-in-Law’s Tongue, is a popular and resilient indoor and outdoor plant known for its attractive foliage and air-purifying qualities. Snake plant is a good choice for beginners because it tolerates a range of growing conditions. Snake plant grows best with eight to ten hours of indirect sunlight or a few hours of early-morning direct sunlight, Too much direct sun causes can burn the plant and damage its leaves ,although it tolerates some shade, but lack of light can stunt growth and dilute the plant’s color.
As a houseplant, snake plant prefers a loose, well-drained potting soil mix. It does well in sandier soil . It should be watered in summer when the plant is in active growth, watering every two weeks. During winter ,you have to check soil every two weeks, the plant might need to be watered only once a month.
In general ,when the soil has completely dried out, then water deeply. It needs to be fertilized once in spring and once in mid-summer with a balanced, slow-release ,and it needs to be pruned during the growing season. Sansevieria trifasciata can be used in outdoor landscapes as an attractive and low-maintenance addition.
